1. The short version
FoodPrint collects what it needs to get food from a kitchen to your door, and nothing it doesn't. We do not sell your personal data. We never see or store your card details — payments run through Paystack.
2. What we collect
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, date of birth (to check the age limits in our Terms), and your city.
- Delivery details — the addresses and map locations you save, plus any landmark notes you add for the rider.
- Order history — what you ordered, from whom, when, and what you paid.
- Partner verification — for vendors and riders only: identity documents, NIN, bank account details, business registration where applicable, guarantor details, and photos of the kitchen or food.
- Technical data — device and browser information, and analytics about how the app is used. Analytics only run if you accept them in the cookie banner.
3. Why we collect it
To create and secure your account; to show you vendors that deliver to you; to take payment and pay vendors and riders; to let a rider find you and confirm handover with your one-time code; to investigate refunds and disputes; to detect fraud; to meet our legal and tax obligations; and — only with your consent — to send you marketing about new vendors and offers. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time from your account.
4. Who we share it with
- The vendor and rider on your order — they see your first name, the order, and (for the rider) your delivery address and phone number. Riders lose access once the order is delivered.
- Paystack — to process payments and resolve partner bank accounts.
- Supabase — our database and file storage provider.
- Resend — to send you transactional email such as sign-in codes and receipts.
- Google — Maps for addresses and routing, optional Google sign-in, and analytics if you consent.
- Regulators and law enforcement — where we are legally required to.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
5. How long we keep it
Order, payment and ledger records are kept for as long as Nigerian tax and financial record-keeping law requires. Partner verification documents are kept for as long as the partner is active with us, and for a period afterwards to defend against disputes. Everything else is deleted or anonymised when you close your account.
6. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw a consent you gave us. Email privacy@foodprint.com.ng and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account does not erase records we are legally required to keep, such as completed order and payment history.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Verification documents live in private storage and are only readable by you and our review team, through short-lived signed links. Access to production data is limited to staff who need it.
8. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies are optional and only set after you accept them in the banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing site data.
9. Children
FoodPrint is not intended for children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we delete it.
10. Changes and contact
We announce material changes in the app before they take effect. For anything about this policy, contact privacy@foodprint.com.ng. See also our Terms of Service.
